OK so I am putting out a new chapbook called pantoum pandemonium. pantoum is a maylasian poetical form in which the second and forth line of one stanza become the first and third line of the next. at the end you wrap it back around. I've included my very first one here again for your perusal. I will let you know when the chapbook is ready. in the meantime enjoy this pantoum about Walt Whitman based upon a scene from Dead Poet's Society starring Robin Williams.
Uncle Walt
Thought I was losing my sight
When a sweaty toothed madman
Tells me I'm right;
And offers me his hand.
A sweaty toothed madman,
Eyeing a simple youth;
And offers me a hand
To show me his truth
Eyeing a simple youth,
Thought I was losing my sight;
To show me his truth;
Tells me I'm right.
